The Competition Commission in South Africa has released the Data Services Market Inquiry final report with findings and recommendations. The report, among many other things, recommended that mobile network operators  MTN and Vodacom, a sister company to Voafone reach agreement within two months with the Commission to reduce data prices, particularly for monthly bundles, and to address the structure of data pricing, reducing the cost per MB for smaller sub-1GB bundles relative to the 1GB price. Ghana to miss fiscal deficit target of 4.7%

Ghana’s fiscal deficit is expected to end 2020 at 4.9%± 0.5% of Gross Domestic Product. This is against the government target of 4.7% of GDP. The 4.9%± 0.5% of GDP target excludes Bank of Ghana’s bailout funds.
