GhMediaHubGhana coach Otto Addo has identified Medeama SC and FC Samartex as potential frontrunners for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
Addo’s insights followed his observation of Medeama’s tight 1-0 win against Legon Cities in match week two at the Legon Stadium. He also witnessed Samartex, the reigning league champions, claim a victory over Nsoatreman in the 2024 Ghana Super Cup at the newly renovated TNA Stadium. On the same occasion, he saw Medeama fall to Basake Holy Stars in the Apinto Cup final.
“From what I’ve seen of Medeama and Samartex, they’re performing well,” Addo remarked to the media after the Medeama vs. Legon Cities game. “However, I haven’t seen all the matches yet. I’m looking forward to watching Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and other top teams to get a fuller picture. For now, it’s too early to predict the league winner.”
Addo also mentioned his plans to attend more Ghana Premier League fixtures this season, with a focus on scouting local talent.
Medeama, former league champions, faced stiff competition from Samartex, highlighting the ongoing dominance of Western Region clubs in Ghanaian football.
