Man was almost choked to death in Assin Fosu

Since Wednesday, March 8, 2023, a guy who is thought to be in his late 30s and who was attacked by some youths is in serious condition at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.

Yaw Osei, the victim, is believed to have gotten into a fight with one of the suspects’ sisters. Yaw Osei is a resident of Assin Adiembra in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

Without warning, suspect Kofi Acquah and another Andrews who were passing by and saw his sister and the victim arguing jumped on him and strangled him for a while.

He had intended to murder him, according to a witness.

A stick was also used to assault the victim, who is fighting for his life. He is currently unable to swallow any food, not even saliva.

Meanwhile, some of the victim’s family members think the attack was motivated by the town’s protracted chieftaincy issues because the assailants are affiliated with one of the groups.

They also pleaded with the police to step up patrols in the region because some young people are coming to the town with offensive weapons and if they aren’t stopped, they will exact revenge.

Police have started investigating the matter.
