Stonebwoy criticizes E-levy?

Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae artiste Livingston Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, has raised concerns about the kinds of policies implemented by governments in Africa.

He said the policies are most often geared towards taxing citizens with little development to show for it.
His comments, made on Twitter, come at a time when some Ghanaians is raising a red flag against the government’s attempts to impose a 1.75% levy on Electronic Transactions including Mobile Money. Already, colleague celebrities like Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese and others have rejected the idea of the E-Levy.

But it is not immediately clear if Stonebwoy’s comments are with reference to the E-Levy.

“How wrong would I be if I said most of our African Govts have implemented many money collecting initiatives but have done little or nothing with the funds accumulated? If you don’t have money, everything you say you belong to the opposition”, he wrote.
