Nigerian music star Wizkid shared an emotional tribute to his late mother, Morayo, on her first posthumous birthday. He took to social media platform X on Wednesday to express his deep sorrow and remember the special day, highlighting how much he misses her.
In his heartfelt message, Wizkid wrote, “Happy birthday, love of my life! I miss you every day. The first one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you, mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us! My heart is broken forever! Love you, love you, MORAYO mi. Your smile is a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly!”
He also shared his thoughts on his music, stating, “MORAYO!! Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!”
Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo, passed away on August 18, 2023, and was laid to rest on October 13, 2023, in a private church service in Lagos attended by her relatives. She played a crucial role in his life and career, often attending his concerts to support him. In his song “Joy,” Wizkid referred to her as a tremendous supporter, underscoring her significant influence in helping him achieve global stardom.
