MavisMohammed Hardi Tuferi, the Member of Parliament for Nanton, was involved in an accident before the vote on the government’s revenue bills, which are currently being reviewed by Parliament.
Details of the accident, such as when and where it occurred, are not yet clear.
Despite the accident, the injured lawmaker from the New Patriotic Party was brought to Parliament in an ambulance to report to the House’s leadership before being rushed to the hospital.
Parliament is currently reviewing three new revenue bills aimed at generating more income to help the struggling economy.
The bills are the Growth and Sustainability Levy Bill, Tax (Amendment) Bill, and Excise Duty and Excise Tax Stamp (Amendment) Bills.
