The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has issued a warning against the use of cedi notes in bouquets and hampers as it is considered illegal.
Mr. Dominic Owusu, the Director of the Currency Department at the BoG, advised the public to desist from such practices as it goes against the bank’s policy.
He emphasized that the Currency Act 64 allows coins and banknotes to be used only for specific purposes.
Mr. Owusu further urged individuals to purchase gifts instead of creating bouquets and hampers using cedi notes.
