GhMediaHubAsante Kotoko continued their dominance over Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in recent times when they run away with a 2-1 victory this afternoon.
The Porcupine Warriors were the first to score in the 11th minute through enterprising holding midfielder Justice Blay who was the man of the match.
He scored from a blistering header from an Augustine Okrah free-kick which flew past goalkeeper Richard Atta.
From then onwards, it became a ding dong affair till the end of the first half.
The second half started in a whirl wind fashion with Hearts threatening to get the equalizer.
Their efforts paid off in the 64th minute when a free header from Joseph Esso got the much needed equaliser.
As if the match was heading to a draw, Kotoko scored their second and the winner via a penalty expertly taken by Guinean Naby keita.
This was after central defender, Mohammed Alhassan had handled the ball.
Kotoko have now moved to 4th on the league log behind Medeama, Aduana and Chelsea with 12 points.
Hearts are 12th with seven points.
On Saturday, leaders Chelsea were held at home by second place Aduana Stars in an all Bono region affair.
Third place Meadema FC however defeated Ashgold 1-0 at the Tarkwa T&A Park while Great Olympics also ran away with a lone goal victory over regional rivals Inter Allies.
