GhMediaHubLate Ebony Reigns is set to retain the ‘Artiste of the year’ for VGMA for 3 years in a row due to present situations.
The dancehall musician was named the VGMA Artiste of the year in 2018 after she was crowned posthumously.
2019 could not produce another winner because of the scuffle between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at the awards night which caused the VGMA board not to declare the winner for the year under review.
Hence, Ebony held on to the title for a second year which her fans really loved and saw that as a record set by our late legendary female artiste.
All was set for VGMA 2020 after nominations were done and all being outdoor-ed but hey …
Everyone is praying that this pandemic really disappear as soon as possible so we can resume our normal lives and the VGMA can’t be exempted because awards can’t be organized due to social distancing restrictions.
VGMA might postponed the awards to next year because of how their revenue scheme is and red-carpet etc.
And that automatically suggest that Ebony Reigns would still reign as the ‘VGMA Artiste of the Year’ for three consecutive years.
Ebony Reigns died in a road accident on the 8th February 2018 on her way back from Sunyani to Accra after a family visit together with two other people, her friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and a soldier Atsu Vondee.
Rest well Queen!!!
