He immediately went into self-isolation after he was confirmed to have contracted the infection on Monday but was nowhere to be found on Friday.
Residents believe he could be hiding around Saamabo, a village between Ga and Ponyentanga on the Wa-Kumasi highway.
The Upper West Regional Police Command has since mounted a manhunt for the escapee, 3news.com can confirm.
Okafor, 46, is known to be the President of the Nigerian Association in Wa. He is a trader.
