GhMediaHubGhana Premier League side, Legon Cities, have completed the signing of Black Stars General Captain, Asamoah Gyan, on a reported four-year deal on a free transfer.
The former Al Ain striker has been on the radar of Asante Kotoko for most of the transfer window, but has swerved the Porcupine Warriors for Legon Cities in his Ghana Premier League return.
The move was reported a week ago, but was dragged to transfer deadline day; yesterday 31st October 2020.
Gyan has made a return to the Ghana Premier League seventeen-years since the former Sunderland striker left Liberty Professionals to join Udinese in the Italian Serie A.
This will means, the Royals have outpaced Kumasi Asante Kotoko to meet the monetary demands of Baby Jet ahead of the start of the new season on November 13.
Legon Cities confirmed the signing of Gyan through their official Twitter handle.
When Gyan played in the Ghana Premier League in 2003, he scored 10 goals in 16 matches for the Scientific Soccer Lads.
Various reports suggest the forward will earn $1 million in the reported four-year deal.
The 34-year-old center-forward, who is Ghana’s all-time top score, with 51 goals in 109 games, last played competitive football for Indian top-flight side, NorthEast United, in a short-term contract that expired in January 2020.
At NorthEast United, he played eight games and scored four goals in that period.
