Controversial Ghanaian Comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger has warned trouble causers of a dose of the brutalities that happened in Ayawaso West Wuogon during the recently held by-election.
According to her, the country is looking for peace during and after the election and will not condone any form of barbarism and violence during the period.
She indicated that when one falls victim and is subjected to beatings, they should not run to the media because their actions caused the beatings.
Afia Schwarzenegger who issued these barrage of stern warnings in a video shared on social media said “On the 7th of December, all Ghanaians will be going to their various constituencies and polling stations to vote. If anyone try fooling at the polling station on that day, good luck on that one because the police will deal with you. Bryan Acheampong’s men will beat the hell out of you. Don’t report to the media when it gets to that point. The police will deal with you if you attempt anything silly at the polling stations. You remember what happened at Ayawaso Wuogon?”
After the death of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament(MP), there was a by election organized to elect an MP for the Constituency.
During the process, some members who belong to the opposition NDC were subjected to severe beatings with some sustaining several degrees of injuries.
The NDC as a result withdrew from the election which was won convincingly by the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan.
The brutalities people were subjected to led to a number of reforms in the electoral process of the country and in the deployment of Security during elections in Ghana.
