GhMediaHubDr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Finance Minister, has stated that he will revive Ghana’s economy if he becomes the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer and subsequently wins the presidential election in 2025.
While on a tour of the Volta region ahead of the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for May 13, Dr. Duffour claimed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has crippled the country’s economy.
He believes that the NDC knows how to manage the economy better and cited his tenure as Finance Minister under the Atta Mills administration as evidence of the party’s success.
Dr. Duffour stated that during his time as Finance Minister, the country achieved significant economic progress, including the longest single-digit inflation rate.
He emphasized that the NDC did not borrow from the Eurobond market during their tenure, yet their performance was the best since independence because they had a team that knew how to manage an economy.
Dr. Duffour is urging delegates to consider his track record and vote for him, promising to restore the economy and ensure prosperity for Ghanaians within two years.
