GhMediaHubDormaahene, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Agyemang Badu II, has suggested that individuals seeking political office in the 2024 general election should publicly state their position on the LGBTQ+ phenomenon.
He believes that this declaration will enable voters to determine who is fit to be elected. Additionally, Osaagyefo Agyemang Badu wants President Nana Akufo-Addo to provide clarity on the taboo subject and reaffirm the Ghanaian position that same-sex marriages are not part of Ghanaian customs and practices.
During a cleanup exercise at Dormaa Ahenkro, he stated that Ghanaians will never accept same-sex marriage, and anyone promoting such an act should be made aware in plain language.
He also vowed to lead a protest against the president, vice president, ministers, or parliamentarians who support the LGBTQ+ movement.
Despite the prohibition against chiefs participating in partisan politics, he will do so if necessary to defend the national position. Osaagyefo Agyemang Badu emphasized that leaders must echo the people’s voice and called for open voting on the matter in Parliament.
