Speaking at the Black Star Square during the Eid-ul Adha celebration, the President reiterated his previous statement that while it may be challenging to bring back lives lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is possible to revive the economy.
President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the country’s economic recovery, highlighting the gradual improvement seen after receiving the first tranche of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) facility. He emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing effective policies and continuing the positive trajectory. The President cited positive indicators such as a 4.2 percent growth in the economy during the first quarter of 2023, currency stability, and the Gold for Oil Programme contributing to stable petroleum product prices and lower inflation.
In conclusion, President Akufo-Addo assured the public that the current positive trends will continue, stating that things are getting better and will continue to improve in the future.
