GHMediaHubThe Minority Caucus in Parliament has issued a stern warning against any further attempts to delay the approval of the anti-gay bill, officially titled the bill on the promotion of proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values. Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s motion for a second consideration of the bill, particularly regarding the proposed replacement of imprisonment with community service, has prompted the Minority’s reaction.
Minority Chief Whip Governs Agbodza emphasized the need for Afenyo-Markin to conclude consultations on his proposed amendments before Wednesday. He cautioned that the Minority would not tolerate any actions perceived as prolonging the process beyond that deadline.
Agbodza highlighted the urgency of the matter, noting that while Afenyo-Markin had extensively discussed his proposal, he continued to provide reasons for postponement. Therefore, the Minority is granting him sufficient time for consultations but will not entertain any further delays beyond Wednesday.
