GHMediaHubA Spanish prosecutor has recommended a prison sentence of four years and nine months for coach Carlo Ancelotti, alleging that he evaded taxes on image rights income during his tenure at Real Madrid in 2014 and 2015. The prosecutor claims that Ancelotti, despite being a tax resident in Spain at the time, failed to declare earnings from his image rights on his tax returns.
According to the prosecutor, Ancelotti purportedly transferred his image rights to entities without substantial activity outside Spain in an attempt to avoid tax payments. Ancelotti, who resumed his role as Real Madrid coach in 2021, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
This case is part of a broader crackdown by Spanish authorities on tax evasion, which has ensnared various celebrities, including football players Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Diego Costa. These individuals ultimately settled their cases and paid significant fines to resolve the allegations of tax irregularities.
