GHMediaHubWilson Arthur, the bankroller of Access Bank Division One League side Skyy FC, has attributed FC Samartex 1996’s successful 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season to the depth and quality of their talent. In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Arthur praised Samartex for their achievement, noting that their pool of skilled players set them apart from the competition.
Samartex clinched the league title with two games to spare, securing a 1-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars, which gave them a nine-point lead over second-placed Aduana Stars. This season marked Samartex’s debut in the elite division, having been promoted last season.
Arthur emphasized the resurgence of talented footballers in the Western part of Ghana, crediting the team’s success to the comprehensive quality of their squad. He pointed out that while other teams may have a few standout players, Samartex’s roster is filled with well-paid and well-catered-for talent throughout.
Samartex will wrap up their historic season with matches against Karela United and Accra Lions.
