GHMediaHubMounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona and Spain’s rising football star Lamine Yamal, was reportedly stabbed late on Wednesday in a parking lot in Mataro, a town in northeastern Spain. The incident was initially reported by La Vanguardia, citing official sources. Nasraoui was taken to Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, where his condition was described as serious. However, a later update from sports website Relevo, also citing official sources, indicated that Nasraoui had been released from the hospital and was back home.
The regional police, Mossos d’Esquadra, and Mataro’s local government have yet to officially comment on the incident. The attack has drawn significant attention, given the high profile of his son, Lamine Yamal, who recently emerged as a standout player during Euro 2024. Yamal, who hails from Mataro, became a key figure in Spain’s victory in the tournament, notably scoring in the semifinal against France on July 9th.
