GhMediaHubDespite his stellar performance this season, Ghanaian and Ajax player Mohammed Kudus thinks he still has more to offer.
The 22-year-old, who also shone for the Black Stars at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, has been in fantastic form for both club and country.
When asked about his goals for the year, Kudus stated that he wants to help Ajax win the league and cup double, claiming he hasn’t accomplished anything yet.
“The goal is to win the cup and the league and until I achieve that I haven’t done anything yet. So there is more coming. More work to be done,” he told Ajax TV.
Following a successful recovery from injury and adjustment to life at Ajax, Kudus is presently experiencing his most fruitful period in front of goal.
The youthful playmaker has contributed 17 goals and four assists in all competitions this season thanks to a strong run of form.
Despite the Black Stars’ elimination from the World Cup in the group stage, he still managed to score twice and contribute one assist for Ghana.
The Goal of the Month for February has been determined to be Kudus’ incredible free-kick goal against Sparta Rotterdam, which he celebrated by paying respect to the late Christian Atsu.
The Ghanaian international scored a free kick in the 84th minute to cap a convincing 4-0 win for Ajax over Sparta Rotterdam last month.
Kudus rejoiced by removing his shirt and displaying the phrase “RIP Atsu” in honor of his former international teammate, who unfortunately died in the Turkey earthquake.
As there was more to Kudus’ gesture than just football, match official Pol van Boekel decided not to issue him a booking for taking off his jersey.
The goal of the month award was given to Kudus on Tuesday in recognition of that incredible free-kick goal.
