GhMediaHubFollowing reports that one of his appointees had kept millions of dollars and thousands of euros in hard money at home, former president John Dramani Mahama criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for not setting a good example with his picks.
According to reports, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, minister of sanitation and water resources, kept $1 million, €300,000, and untold amounts of Ghana cedis at home.
Two house helpers are accused of stealing these funds and are on trial at an Accra Circuit Court.
After learning about this, Mr. Mahama expressed his disapproval of such a move by a Minister of State on his official Twitter page on Friday, July 21.
It was deemed “scandalous” by him.
In his tweet, he questioned why millions of hard dollars should be kept at home, even legitimately acquired.
But because of this oversight in his administration, he challenged the President.
