Passion has kept me going for 25 years now – Kaywa.

David Kojo Kyei, better known by his stage as Kaywa, the Chief Executive Producer of Highly Spiritual Music, has revealed what has sustained him throughout his more than 20-year career in the music production business.

The music producer discussed the beginning of his music-producing career in an interview on 3FM’s Showbiz 927 with host Caleb Nii Boye.

“I began in 1998. I remember the day I started making beats in my father’s boy’s quarters,” he recalled.

He responded, “Passion and the love for what I do,” when asked what had kept him in the game for so long. I think that whatever our passion, God is always present. God always has a place in whatever is wonderful. Thus, passion is always the key. Although I’ve been worn out and exhausted, our desire drives us forward.

Kaywa intends to rename himself after occupying this place for a considerable amount of time to return stronger. He lists some of the websites where he received recognition for his efforts.

“As I mentioned, I’m considering rethinking and stepping up as the producer you’ve always been. By God’s grace, I’m still here even though I started with a few individuals. I was just given the Producer of the Year award last year. It may have been the PraiseTV Awards. The Ghana Music Awards took place in the UK the next year, he noted.

Changing gears a bit, Kaywa discusses outdooring Gospel performers from his label. He acknowledged that he is aware of the inquiries that are being made everywhere about why, as a minister of God, he does not have a Gospel singer on his label. All of these people are urged to unwind by him.

There is a new generation of gospel musicians. They are Christian artists originating from Highly Spiritual Music for lack of a better term; once it happens, you’ll understand. I am aware that you two are conversing, but please stop,” he said.
