Black Sherif wins ‘West African Artiste of The Year’ at Headies Awards 2023

At the 16th Headies Awards in 2023, Black Sherif, a global superstar from Ghana, was named the “West African Artiste of The Year.”

His singular style and ability to tell stories set him apart, and this astounding win confirms his position as the leading figure in West African music.

Artists of West African heritage who significantly impacted the music landscape on the continent during the year were honored in the category “West African Artiste of The Year.”

The artist outperformed rivals from the West African region, including Camidoh, Gyakie, and other members of his own country.

Black Sherif thanked his African followers in general and his hometown of Konongo Zongo in particular after receiving the prize.

“Thank you so much to the fans, to the listeners. Thank you Headies, thank you Nigeria Thank you Ghana, thank you Konongo Zongo, I love you,” he said.
