Ghanaian media personality and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana, has stirred public conversation with his recent remarks on gender roles and financial responsibility in relationships.
Speaking during a discussion on Hitz FM on March 31, 2026, Abeiku Santana rooted his perspective in biblical teachings. He explained that, according to his understanding of the book of Genesis, men are inherently tasked with the responsibility of provision due to the consequences of disobedience. “If you read Genesis chapter one, after man disobeyed God, their punishment was that man would suffer,” he stated.
Expanding on his point, he suggested that financial dynamics in relationships naturally favor women. “All men suffering, women enjoy it. Money was created for women. Men work for the money, but women enjoy it,” he added, a comment that has since generated mixed reactions among listeners and on social media.
The popular broadcaster further emphasized that financial provision plays a key role in maintaining harmony in relationships. According to him, meeting a woman’s financial needs contributes to a man’s peace of mind. “When you give a woman, you would have your peace of mind,” he concluded.
His remarks have since fueled ongoing debates about traditional gender roles, modern relationship expectations, and the evolving dynamics of financial responsibility between men and women.
