Chelsea have been handed a fresh blow over Tammy Abraham’s injury following the loss against Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge.
The striker picked up an ankle injury against Arsenal in January, but failed to fully train during the club’s two-week winter break.
Abraham was left out of the squad entirely for the first game back against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, and was only fit enough for a place on the bench against Spurs, coming on with 20 minutes remaining and the Blues two goals to the good.
Frank Lampard again decided to leave the striker on the bench, preferring Olivier Giroud following his goal against Tottenham at the weekend.
But following two quickfire goals from Bayern Munich after half-time, Abraham was introduced with half an hour remaining.
He looked set to go through on goal after the visitors had added a third, but was challenged by Jerome Boateng, with both players staying down after the tackle.
Abraham shook off the blow to carry on, but it looks as if it may have caused more damage for the England international.
The striker was taking part in a post-game warm-down, but pulled up during the exercise before stopping early and limping down the tunnel while the other substitutes completed their fitness routine.

Lampard will be hoping it is not another problem for the Blues’ current top scorer, with games against Bournemouth, Liverpool in the FA Cup and Everton all coming within the next two weeks.
A clash against Aston Villa follows before the second leg of the tie against Bayern Munich – though the manager will now know that his side are effectively out of the competition, requiring at least three goals against the Bundesliga champions.
Lampard stated in his post-match press conference that he had not seen the incident, so would not be commenting further on it.
Abraham has had an impressive breakthrough season with Chelsea in the Premier League, notching 14 goals in 25 appearances so far.
