Liverpool’s youngest-ever starting line-up beat Shrewsbury Town to set up an FA Cup fifth-round tie at Chelsea.

The youngest starting XI in Liverpool’s history beat Shrewsbury Town by the minimum at Anfield to book an FA Cup Fifth Round tie at Chelsea.

Liverpool‘s youngsters vindicated manager Jürgen Klopp’s decision to rest his entire first-team squad as they beat third-tier Shrewsbury Town 1-0 in their FA Cup fourth-round replay at Anfield on Tuesday.

Klopp was not even in attendance but would have been smiling as Ro-Shaun Williams‘ comical 75th-minute own goal sealed victory and a Fifth Round tie with ChelseaLiverpool, whose starting lineup was the youngest in their history with an average age of 19 years and 102 days, had a let-off as Shrewsbury, backed by 8,000 travelling fans, had a goal ruled out via VAR.
