Kennedy Agyapong goes after McDan over government dealings

Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has accused business mogul and Chairman of McDan Shipping, Daniel McKorley, of milking deals from the New Patriotic Party when he did not contribute to NPP’s fight for power, MyNewsGh.com reports.

McDan last year received a license to manage and operate the executive lounge for private jets at the new Terminal 3 airport as part of efforts by the government to change the face of aviation in the country.

The Fixed Base Operator (FBO) is the private jet terminal at the airport, which has been set apart from the main airport buildings, offering a range of services for private jet customers, aircraft and crew.

But peaking on the Dialogue show on his own TV station Net2 TV on February 6, Kennedy Agyapong said it is not right for people who don’t know how the party came to power to be the ones enjoying.

“.. Today when you get to Airport, you see McDan Aviation.. This McDan guy I know him paa… So from Adu Boahen’s time, was there anything like McDan? Eeei NPP! NPP, me my name is Kanewu. If you wont pay me, I will eat Kontomire and wait for a good time. Anything that will destroy this party, I will say it. ” Kennedy fumed.

He disclosed that people who are sympathizers of the opposition NDC are getting contracts at the expense of those who financed the NPP. He named one Ali Seidu as an example.

“Seidu… Ali Seidu looked at me at Ministry of transport and told me he has 27 contracts..roads but Simey is sitting there. He [Simey] took huge cash for me and Stephen Amoah to take it to the party.” he revealed.

“People who did not sacrifice for this party are the very ones enjoying. Because they did not struggle, they don’t know what it takes to win and lose power.” he charged further.
