“No Face Mask, No Entry” – Banks to customers

Some banks in the country have began enforcing the ‘No Face Mask No Entry’ directive by the Ministry of Health.

They have told their customers that without face mask they will not be allowed into the banking halls to transact business.

In a communique to their clients via text messages amongst other channels, the banks are also ensuring that the social distance measures are enforced to reduce the health risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

For instance, Access Bank Ghana has informed its customers that their safety remains its topmost priority.

It added that in line with the directive by the government, every customer entering the banking hall will have to wear a face mask before accessing banking services.

“Your safety remains our topmost priority. As such in line with the directive of the government for everyone to wear a face mask to protect themselves and help curb the spread of COVID-19, we wish to inform you that you will now be required to wear a face mask when accessing banking services nationwide.”

Furthermore, this precautionary measure will complement already existing ones put in place at their various branches including washing of hands with soap.

Stanbic Bank also informed its customers that “To keep us all safe, you are kindly required to wear face mask before entering any Stanbic Bank branch or office. Temperature screening, handwashing, the use of hand sanitisers and social distancing are also compulsory. Stay safe and remember, together we can win.”

Other banks including Fidelity Bank have also implemented similar actions to ensure that customers complied with the Ministry of Health directive before undertaking any banking transaction in the banking hall.
