FACT CHECK: Twene Jonas Hasn’t Been Cursed By Any Bechem Chief, The Video Is Actually An Old Video
One of the videos circulating on social media currently is the purported video of some chiefs from Bechem cursing Twene Jonas for insulting the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.
The video has really garnered some reactions from Ghanaians with some of them applauding the chiefs and others telling these chiefs that their actions are needless.
Well, we have fact-checked and the video is actually an old video and the video was shared on YouTube by Fawohodie TV and it was shared on Aug 11, 2020.
The description that accompanied video reads;
“OHENE DAVID, GHANAIAN – GERMAN BASED MAN HAS BEEN CURSED BY BECHEM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL FOR INSULTING BECHEM CHIEFS AND ‘ASANTE HENE’ OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II.”
Meanwhile, Twene Jonas has indicated that he is not going to apologize to the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Osei Tutu II after insulting him over the illegal mining.
It would be vividly recalled that Otumfour’s Nkwantasehene, Nana Boakye Yaw Ababio advised Twene Jonas to come and kneel down before the Asantehene and ask for His forgiveness for his comments.
Twene Jonas is currently smiling at the curses invoked by a concerned member of the Ashanti Kingdom because he believed that no amount of lies can defeat the truth and since he has always been an advocate for the truth, nothing will ever happen to him.
In a Facebook live video, Twene Jonas vowed never to come down from the US and kneel down before any chief to apologize as suggested by Nana Boakye Yaw Aababio.
According to him, no amount of warnings can stop him from insulting high profiled personalities in Ghana when he feels the need to.
He also made mention that if Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the other chiefs have in any way sold lands to Chinese and other illegal miners to operate on them and, at the end of the day, harm our water sources, he says they are stupid.
However, the Asantehene himself is yet to react to the allegations leveled against him by Twene Jonas as well as his harsh comments.
