Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo has played in his 100th game for Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga with the milestone coming in Celta’s 0-1 loss to Barcelona.
The center back played out the entire duration of the game as Celta missed multiple opportunities to grab the equalizer and possible game winning goal.
The 27 year old paired well with Unai Nunez in central defence but got booked in the 70th minute as Celta chased the game after falling to a 17th minute Pedri goal.
Aidoo joined Celta in the 2019 offseason and has been a sturdy presence at the back for Celta while playing occasionally as a right full back.
The former Inter Allies player played for Belgian side KRC Genk and Swedish side Hammarby prior to joining Celta Vigo on July 11, 2019.
Aidoo has made 10 appearances for Ghana’s Black Stars and is in the mix for a place in the national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Ghana is drawn in Group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
