John Mahama is a great president – Prof. Joshua Alabi

Professor Joshua Alabi, a former vice chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), believes that Ghana is fortunate that former President John Dramani Mahama has decided to run for office again in 2024.

In his opinion, the former president is a great president because he is “affable, good listener, and a unifier,” in addition to having a plethora of experience.

On March 2, 2023, Prof. Alabi made the comments as he presented Mr. Mahama at the beginning of the latter’s campaign to run for the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearership.

The former university dean claimed that Mr. Mahama has the skills necessary to improve the nation’s deteriorating economic status. If given the chance to lead the nation once more, the former president, in his opinion, is capable of fixing the economic catastrophe created by the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

He said,

Ghana is privileged to have John Mahama,” saying, “For the previous six years, the decent people of our nation have desired for the return of the NDC and John Mahama.

The NDC is fortunate to have John Dramani Mahama running for president in 2024, according to Prof. Alabi, who added, “We are happy again to have such a person in our party as our candidate.”

He asserts that the former president is the people’s choice and that he will lead Ghana in 2025.

According to Prof. Alabi, who serves as Mr. Mahama’s campaign manager, “every NDC member is involved in the campaign to take power from the NPP.” Mr. Mahama’s campaign will not throw away love and friendship, and he will welcome on board all other candidates who will challenge him after the elections.

Being a visionary, seasoned, and aggressive leader who also listens well and is a devout Christian, the former president, according to him, has stronger credentials to lead the nation.
