GhMediaHubTragic news coming out of Kenya’s coastal Kilifi county as four people were found dead and nearly a dozen others hospitalized after being rescued from a forest where they had been living for several days.
The group had been waiting for the imminent end of the world, following advice from a local preacher to fast while “waiting to meet Jesus.”
Police have said that they rescued 11 people, six of whom were emaciated and in critical condition. Reports suggest that others are still in the forest, and the police will resume the search on Friday morning.
The worshippers belong to Good News International Church led by a local pastor who has been on police radar for allegedly urging his followers to starve to death to reach heaven faster.
The pastor is currently out on police bail after being charged last month over the death of two children whose parents are among his followers.
