GhMediaHubBen Ephson, the Managing Editor of Daily Dispatch newspaper, has predicted that former Ghanaian President John Mahama will win the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearship race but will face a bigger challenge in winning the presidency in the 2024 general elections.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM, Ephson said that while Mahama will easily win the NDC slot, he will have difficulty contesting against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024.
He also tipped Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to emerge as the NPP’s flagbearer in the upcoming election, stating that Bawumia’s popularity among both Christians and Muslims would give him an advantage in the race.
Ephson further added that he would be surprised if Bawumia gets less than 60 percent of votes in the NPP’s flagbearership race.
