Lawrence Ati-Zigi, the talented Ghanaian goalkeeper, has been honored as the Best Goalkeeper of the Season in the Swiss Super League for the 2022-23 season. Ati-Zigi, who plays for St Gallen, received the prestigious award, adding to his already impressive career accomplishments.
His exceptional performances throughout the season not only earned him the title of Best Goalkeeper but also secured him a place in the Team of the Season. Despite facing tough competition from other talented goalkeepers in the league, including Andre Moreira from Grasshopper FC, Anthony Racioppi from Young Boys, and Jeremy Frick from Servette FC, Ati-Zigi emerged as the top choice.
With 30 appearances for St Gallen, Ati-Zigi’s contributions were outstanding. He showcased his exceptional skills, making an average of 3.4 saves per game with a save rate of 70%. His consistent performances also earned him five appearances in the Swiss League Team of the Week, further solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s standout players.
Earlier in the season, Ati-Zigi had already received recognition for his outstanding form by being named the best goalkeeper of the first half of the campaign. With this latest award, he continues to establish himself as one of Ghana’s top goalkeepers and a highly regarded player in the Swiss Super League.
