Mahama acknowledges the late Kwesi Amissah-Arthur for his contributions to economic growth

Former President John Dramani Mahama paid tribute to his late former Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, who passed away on June 29, 2018, after a brief illness. Mahama attended the 2nd Kwesi Amissah-Arthur Economic Forum at the University of Ghana, describing it as an exceptional event.

The forum featured insightful discussions and a presentation by Dr. KY Amoako on the prospects and future of Ghana’s economy. Mahama acknowledged Amissah-Arthur’s significant contributions to Ghana’s economic and development policies throughout his career as Vice President, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and Deputy Minister for Finance.

Mahama expressed his commitment to continue working towards a brighter future for Ghana’s economic growth and development. Prior to serving as Vice President from August 2012, Amissah-Arthur held various positions, including Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012 and Deputy Minister for Finance under different governments.

He was a respected figure in Ghana’s financial and economic landscape.
