“We used our Ghana card to travel all the way to Mauritania” – says expeditioners

A group of Ghanaian adventurers has shared an exciting tale of their journey from Ghana to London, United Kingdom, passing through various West African countries and Europe.

During an interview with Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show host Kwami Sefa Kayi, the explorers revealed that they had already covered an incredible 7000km on the road, reaching Spain at the time of the interview.

The adventurers explained that their expedition was purely for fun, inspired by reading about people driving from Europe to Ghana. They embarked on their journey from Accra, passing through Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco before reaching Spain. From there, they planned to continue their route to London through Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Kwami Sefa Kayi expressed fascination with their adventure and inquired about their ability to navigate through various borders. The explorers revealed that they used their Ghana Card for their journeys, which facilitated their travels with ease.

They emphasized that the Ghana Card not only serves as a national identification document but is also recognized by the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) as an international travel identity card. With their Ghana Card, they could travel to Mauritania and other West African countries without any visa requirements.
