Reports indicate that Argentina has dumped the four time African champions for Cote D’Ivoire on March 26 and Ghana’s bitter rival Nigeria on March 18 as friendly opponents in China instead.

Key players in Argentina’s triumphant 2022 World Cup team including Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martinez and Angel Di Maria are expected to feature in the friendly games.

Both Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire have qualified to compete in the quarterfinal stage at the 2023 AFCON against Angola and the winner of the Mali v Burkina Faso tie respectively.
