GHMediaHubFormer Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club striker, Steven Mukwala, has joined Tanzania giant Simba SC and has stated that he is aware of the task ahead.
He said this on his X (formerly Twitter) page after joining the perennial CAF Champions League campaigners on a two year deal.
Prior to joining Simba, Mukwala spent two seasons with Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko; he scored 14 league goals last season in 28 league appearances. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“It’s all but a challenge and am aware of the task ahead. Am proud to be a new lion in the city” he wrote on his X page.
Despite having a fine run with the Porcupine Warriors, Mukwala’s time at Kotoko have been generally poor from a team standpoint as the club has missed out on winning a trophy in both years.
Kotoko finished sixth in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season with Dr. Prosper Ogum’s team finishing two points short off second placed Accra Lions.
FC Samartex 1996 won its first ever league title.
