VGMA full list. Mark Okraku congratulates Blacko, the new Artiste of the year.

The just-ended 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) saw Black Sherif crowned as the Artiste of the Year. The event, which was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), lasted deep into the next day before the main award was announced.

Upon announcing the artiste of the year, Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku-Mantey, said that “God rewards hard work.”

Black Sherif, who is also known as Blacko, became one of the youngest artistes to win the award. Other winners of the night include Piesie Esther, Perez Musik, Niiella, Lasmid, Sarkodie ft Black Sherif, Camidoh ft Phantom, Stonebwoy, MOG Beatz, Epixode, Abrekyireba Kofi Sammy, Asake, KelvynBoy, King Promise, Amerado, Gyakie, Alfro Nober, and Worlasi, among others.

While the event was a celebration of music and talent, it also provided an opportunity for industry players to reflect on the importance of hard work and dedication.

Mr Okraku-Mantey’s remark on the role of hard work in success is a reminder to young artists that success does not come easy but is often the result of hard work and dedication.
