GhMediaHubFormer Finance Minister and presidential candidate aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has begun a 4-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region on Sunday, May 6th, 2023. This tour is aimed at meeting with all delegates in the 47 constituencies in the region to share his vision of building a strong party with a vibrant grassroots for victory in the 2024 elections.
Dr. Duffuor, who has been touring various regions in Ghana, is known for his focus on improving the economy and creating jobs. His campaign team met with the regional executives of the party at the Ashanti regional office on Saturday, May 5th, to brief the party leadership on his mission to the region.
Speaking about his campaign, Dr. Duffuor said, “We need to build a formidable party with a vibrant grassroots, where the voices of the people are heard, and their concerns are addressed. We need to create a party that is committed to the welfare of the people, and that is focused on improving their lives. That is the vision that I am sharing with the people of the Ashanti Region.”
Dr. Duffuor’s campaign tour began from the Obuasi East constituency in the Obuasi Municipality of the region on Sunday. He will be visiting the various constituencies in the region to engage with the delegates and share his vision for the NDC.
The NDC, which is currently the largest opposition party in Ghana, is gearing up for the 2024 elections. Dr. Duffuor’s campaign is seen as a strong contender for the presidential ticket of the party. With his focus on economic development and job creation, he is seen as a candidate who can bring change to the country.
The people of the Ashanti Region are eager to hear from Dr. Duffuor, and his campaign team has promised to engage with them and listen to their concerns. With his vision for a stronger and more united NDC, Dr. Duffuor is hoping to win the support of the people and lead the party to victory in 2024.
