GhMediaHubSenegal emerged victorious in a friendly match against Brazil in Lisbon, Portugal, with former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane leading the charge with two goals.
The game saw West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta opening the scoring for Brazil in the 11th minute, but Senegal’s Habib Diallo swiftly equalized. In the second half, a Marquinhos own goal gave Senegal the lead, which was extended by Mane in the 57th minute.
Marquinhos redeemed himself by scoring a goal for Brazil, narrowing the gap. However, Mane secured his second goal of the match through a late penalty.
The match took place at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the home stadium of Sporting Lisbon. Both teams featured several players based in England, including Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, Newcastle midfielders Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes, and Tottenham forward Richarlison for Brazil. Senegal’s lineup included Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate, Chelsea center-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Leicester midfielder Nampalys Mendy, and Watford forward Ismaila Sarr.
