GhMediaHubThe Black Galaxies’ final pre-CHAN friendly match against Mozambique at the 5 July 1962 Stadium has been abandoned.
The Mozambicans were leading 1-0 after 72 minutes when Ghana was awarded a penalty for a handball incident.
The coach of Mozambique invaded the pitch and ordered his players to leave the field for what he described as poor officiating.
Despite talks between the two parties, the Mozambican officials were reluctant to allow the game to restart.
After several minutes of the Black Galaxies waiting for the game to resume, the match ended inconclusively as the Mozambique players walked off the pitch.
The Black Galaxies will now switch attention to the tournament where they face Madagascar, Sudan, and Morocco in Group C.
The 2023 CHAN will be played in Algeria from January 13 to February 4, 2023.
