Kasoa Murder Case: Family of 15-year-old suspect cannot be found

The prosecution will call three witnesses from the family of a 15-year-old juvenile charged with another juvenile for allegedly murdering 10-year-old Ishmael Mensah Abdallah.

Both the juvenile and an 18-year-old young offender are accused of conspiring to kill people. The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court is presided over by Judge Lydia Osei Marfo, and they will be tried by a jury of seven jurors.

The prosecution asked the judge to postpone the commencement of the case until March 9 in court on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 because they were having difficulties calling their first three witnesses.

“My lord respectfully, we were supposed to call our first witness today, (March 7, 2023,” Prosecution led by Ama Adoma Osei noted.

She added that the three of the witnesses have relocated and they are still in the course of finding them, hence the order of the witness presented will change slightly.

The 7 man jury convened and Justice Marfo urged them to act accordingly, in and out of the courtroom and to avoid being infulened by anything that has been posted on social media.

The 15-year-old accused pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy and not guilty to the charge of murder. The 18-year-old howerver pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The Case has been adjourned to March 9, 2023.
