The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated GHC100,000 to the victims of the Kumasi Kejetia Market fire, according to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua.
In an interview with GHone News, Kodua stated that the fire victims were considered true members of the NPP who are major stakeholders.
The trader union leadership has briefed the party’s national executives on the major issues facing the market, and the NPP will put all concerns shared with them before the appropriate authorities to have them resolved.
The fire occurred on the first and second floors of the Kajetia market last week Wednesday, resulting in the destruction of stores and properties worth thousands of cedis.
The area of the market that was affected by the fire is known as “Dubai”.
