Dr. Owen Abraham, a pastor, has been accused of absconding with 52 phones, money, and other valuable items belonging to attendees of a three-day crusade he organized in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The pastor allegedly claimed that the Holy Spirit directed him to ask attendees to surrender their phones and valuables, only to disappear with them.
Many attendees, including widows and students, were reportedly lured into the crusade with promises of rice, money, and scholarships.
The pastor also allegedly sold a bottle of water for N4,800, claiming it contained perfume.
The victims have expressed their disappointment and disbelief that the pastor would use the name of God to deceive them, and posters bearing his name and pictures have been circulated in the area to track him down.
