On April 17, an STC bus travelling from Accra to Cape Coast was involved in an accident, with six out of the 39 passengers on board said to be in critical condition.
The bus, with registration number GB 1079-20, reportedly veered off the road at Gomoa Buduatta, and a nearby tipper truck with registration number GW 7932-22 was also seen somersaulted.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. The driver of the tipper truck, Kwabena Tawiah, blamed the STC driver for the accident, accusing them of speeding.
The victims were taken to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba and the Effutu Municipal Hospital, where they are said to be responding to treatment.
Most of the passengers were reportedly students heading to schools in the Central Region.
