LilWin, a stage name used by Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, has also weighed in on the debates surrounding Ghana’s recent tax on sports wagering.
On Wednesday, August 23, the actor said in an interview with Tony Best on Adwuma Mmere on Akoma FM that while he does not partake in sports betting, he will not hold it against those who do.
He believed that the majority of bettors were unemployed.
“If I were the president, I would never have taxed gambling until I had produced jobs for the kids, especially because I knew full well that I hadn’t generated enough jobs for them.
LilWin had added, “By producing enough jobs, you could even charge 60% on betting to deter people from the behavior.
