A Senior High School (SHS) student, Davis Nkrumah, is in critical condition after being attacked with a machete over a GH¢5.00 debt in Jukwa, Twifu Hemang Lower Denkyira District, Central Region on May 7, 2023.
The victim reportedly failed to pay the debt owed to a man known as Salinko. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim at his home without provocation and screams from the victim drew the attention of neighbors who disarmed the suspect.
The suspect claimed to have attempted to retrieve the money from the victim while he was at school but was unsuccessful.
The suspect is in custody while investigations are ongoing and the victim is receiving treatment at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
