GHMediaHubHiplife icon Guru, who is also known for his hit song “Pooley,” has been disqualified from running in the presidential race for the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Ghana. Guru and his running mate, Lawrence Edinam Egleh, were disqualified by the Vetting Committee of the UG SRC primarily because they are not registered as residential students, which is a key requirement for eligibility.
Prior to his disqualification, Guru was leading in the University’s online poll, showing strong support among the student body. His bid to lead the SRC came after another musician, Samini, successfully led the SRC at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
